Timothy Suckow is a Christian artist from West Michigan with roots in high school band and orchestra. In the mid 1980's he helped form a local garage rock band that lasts to this day, writing music together that has appeared on iTunes and on radio/TV commercials.
He served in the United States Navy for nearly 13 years, mostly as an Air Traffic Controller, attaining the rank of Petty Officer First Class. In 2010 he was honorably discharged prompting him to accept the position of church custodian (Our Redeemer Lutheran - Muskegon, Michigan) and often could be heard singing while vacuuming the sanctuary floor and cleaning toilets. The sexton duties lasted 3 years and ended when he embarked on a new career in the automobile parts supply industry.
Shortly before his departure from military life he began experimenting with studio software to bring renewed vigor to his array of tunes that had been gathering dust for decades. Finally encouraged him to take the step of releasing his music to the general public, "Dance Girl Dance" was made available through the publisher CD Baby under the name Beatdrum in March 2013 and can be found on all major digital distribution platforms (iTunes, Amazon MP3, Google Play, etc.) His rendition of the Christmas carol "Silent Night" is offered as a free download and a full music video is streamed on YouTube generating many views. "Back To Detroit (Motor City Remix)" was aired on WLCS-FM 98.3 MHz (North Muskegon, Michigan) numerous times prior to baseball radio broadcasts April-August 2015 leading to the album "A Secret Never Told" in 2016.
A major change was announced when the artist decided to go Explicitly Christian instead of simply "family friendly." Beatdrum would now be known as Dutybound Servant and a new 9-song album is scheduled for Summer, 2017. The first radio single is "Working While Praising Your Name" debuting in June followed by "Immortal" in August.
Timothy often enjoys model railway creation and is a lifetime Detroit Tigers baseball fan.
